Mordekaiser's ultimate ability, "Realm of Death", allows him to drag an enemy champion into a separate, ghostly dimension with him. Once there, Mordekaiser steals a portion of his victim's stats, making himself stronger. If Mordekaiser is able to defeat the enemy champion in this isolated realm, he gets to keep those stolen stats until the enemy respawns.
This gives Mordekaiser a significant power boost if he can successfully execute his ultimate. However, in the past, certain champion abilities or items have been able to cancel out or escape Mordekaiser's ultimate, diminishing its effectiveness.

Mordekaiser, Stronger Than Ever
In the past, abilities like Gangplank's W, Milio or Olaf's ultimates, and Rengar's W could all stop Mordekaiser's ultimate from working properly. Even the Quicksilver Sash item could be used to escape his ultimate. This made it very difficult for Mordekaiser to consistently execute his signature ability.
